Ingredients
For Dhokla Batter
- 1 cup Kalash Khaman Dhokla Mix
- Water as required
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp lemon juice
For Tempering
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 green chilies (slit)
- Curry leaves
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ cup water
Garnishing
- Fresh coriander
- Grated coconut
- Sev (optional)
Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare Batter
Take Kalash Khaman Dhokla Mix in a bowl.
Add water gradually and whisk to make a smooth batter.
Add oil and lemon juice.
Step 2 – Steam Dhokla
Grease a steaming tray.
Pour batter into tray and steam for 15–20 minutes until cooked.
Step 3 – Prepare Tempering
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, green chilies and curry leaves.
Add water and sugar, then boil for 1 minute.
Step 4 – Add Tempering
Pour hot tempering evenly over steamed dhokla pieces.
Step 5 – Garnish & Serve
Top with fresh coriander and grated coconut.
Serve with green chutney.
Serving Suggestion
Serve warm with mint chutney and masala chai.
Recipe Tips
- Batter should not be too thick.
- Steam on medium heat for soft texture.
- Add tempering immediately after steaming.
- Do not overcook the dhokla.
